How to play Nonogram

Colour in squares on a grid. The numbers beside each row and above each column tell you how many squares in a row to colour.

Goal

Fill in the grid so each row and column matches its number clues, and reveal the picture.

How to play

  1. Each row and column has numbers. They give the lengths of the runs of filled cells, in order.
  2. There must be at least one blank cell between two runs.
  3. Tap or drag to fill cells. Use Cross out (or right-click) to note cells you know are empty. Crosses are only notes.
  4. A clue fades once its line matches. Press Check my answer when you think the grid is complete.
  5. Every puzzle has exactly one solution and can be solved by logic alone, with no guessing.
Before you start: choose a mode, rounds and difficulty, then press Start game.

Example

A row of 5 squares with the clue 3 has three coloured squares together, somewhere in that row.

The clue 1 1 means one coloured square, at least one gap, then another coloured square.

With the clue 5 in a row of 5 squares, colour all five.

Tips

  • Start with big clues: a long run in a short line overlaps with itself wherever it goes, so its middle cells are certain.
  • Cells next to a completed run must be empty, so cross them out.
  • Work back and forth between rows and columns: each new cell helps the other direction.
  • On Easy and Medium, a hint reveals one correct cell.

Scoring

  • Every correct answer is worth 100 points, scaled by difficulty (Easy ×0.8, Medium ×1, Hard ×1.3, Expert ×1.6).
  • Answering within 3 seconds adds a 25-point speed bonus.
  • Each answer in a row adds a 15-point streak bonus, up to 10 in a row.
  • Using a hint halves the points for that answer and skips the bonuses. Hints are only available on Easy and Medium.
  • Your score, streak and achievements are saved to your account when the game ends.
