How to play Gridlock

Slide the cars in a crowded car park until the red car can drive out of the exit.

Goal

Get the red ★ car out through the exit on the right, in as few moves as you can.

Cars only slide along their length: left and right, or up and down. They can't turn or jump over each other.
Drag a car to slide it, or select it and use the arrow keys or the arrow buttons.
Moving one car counts as one move, however far it goes. Moving the same car again straight away (one step at a time with the keys) is still that one move.
Each puzzle shows a par, the fewest moves possible, and how many moves you may use. Get out within that number to score.
If you give up, the explanation lists the shortest way out.

Start from the red car and work backwards: which cars block it, and what blocks those?
A car across the red car's row can only leave by going up or down. Check which way has room.
On Easy and Medium, a hint shows the next move.

Every correct answer is worth 100 points, scaled by difficulty (Easy ×0.8, Medium ×1, Hard ×1.3, Expert ×1.6).
Answering within 3 seconds adds a 25-point speed bonus.
Each answer in a row adds a 15-point streak bonus, up to 10 in a row.
Using a hint halves the points for that answer and skips the bonuses. Hints are only available on Easy and Medium.
Your score, streak and achievements are saved to your account when the game ends.

Classic

A fixed number of rounds, then a results screen.

Endless

Keep playing until you press Quit.

Time Attack

Fit in as many rounds as you can before the clock runs out.

Survival

Play until you run out of lives or make the game-ending mistake.
