Two-step sign-in

Protect your account with a code from an authenticator app, and keep backup codes for when you don't have your phone.

Two-step sign-in (also called two-factor authentication) asks for a 6-digit code from an app on your phone each time you sign in with your password. It's the single most effective thing you can do to protect your account.

You'll need an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.

Turn it on#

  1. Open Profile → Security and find Two-factor authentication. Press Set up.

  2. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or type the key shown under it into the app.

  3. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows, and confirm.

  4. Save your backup codes. Each works once in place of a code from the app. This is the only time they're shown: download, print or copy them somewhere safe and private.

Signing in#

After your password, BrainTally asks for the code from your app. No phone with you? Enter one of your backup codes instead.

Turn it off#

On Profile → Security, press Turn off and enter a current code from your app, or a backup code.
