Understanding your score
What the 55 to 145 scale means, what 100 stands for, and why some scores can't be compared.
The scale#
Your score is on a scale from 55 to 145. 100 is the score for answering half the questions correctly. Every answer is tallied, category by category, and turned into a point on that scale. Your results page shows the working.
| Score | What it says |
|---|---|
| 130 and above | Well above this assessment's midpoint |
| 115 to 129 | Above this assessment's midpoint |
| 86 to 114 | Around this assessment's midpoint |
| 71 to 85 | Below this assessment's midpoint |
| 70 and below | Well below this assessment's midpoint |
What can be compared#
- Your attempts at the same test can be compared. That's what Score over time on your dashboard and in Results & reports shows.
- The standard and visual tests can't. They're on separate scales, so the reports show them separately.
- An incomplete attempt isn't directly comparable. Unanswered questions count as wrong, so a test handed in early or one that ran out of time scores lower than a complete one would. The results page says when that happened.
