Inviting members

Bring people into your organization by email, in bulk, with a join link, or automatically by their work email.

Each person who joins uses a seat. The Organization page shows your members, pending invitations, and how many seats are used or invited, so you can see before you run out. Add people has a tab for each way in.

Add people: by email, many at once, or with a join link.

Four ways in#

By email#

On the By email tab, enter someone's email and press Send invite. They get an email with a link; when they accept, they join with their own BrainTally account (or create one). Any email address works, and invitations last 14 days.

Many at once#

On the Many at once tab, paste a list of email addresses, one per line, or upload a CSV file: up to 500 people at a time. Add a comma and a team name after an address to put that person straight into a team. If there aren't enough seats for everyone, you're told before anything is sent.

On the Join link tab, turn on a link and share it, for example in a class chat. You can set when it stops working and the most people who can use it, and see how many times it's been used. Make a new link any time: the old one stops working straight away, for everyone you shared it with.

By work email#

Add your organization's email domain (such as acme.com) and prove it's yours by adding a TXT record to the domain's DNS, then press check. DNS changes can take up to an hour to show. Once it's verified, people who sign in with that work email can find your organization and ask to join, or join straight away if you turn on Join without approval.

Join requests#

People who ask to join appear on the Organization page. Approve or decline each one.
